After wearing loose clothes for several months (we’re not judging you!), nobody wants to put on clothes that are too tight and uncomfortable for the holidays. Fortunately, fashion has evolved in this direction and comfort is now a priority for all looks. So you can wear outfits that are as chic as they are comfortable for the festive season, without compromising on style. What a joy!

And since Christmas is just around the corner, our stylist Julie has found some festive and comfortable outfits to make our shopping easier. Long live sequins, shiny fabrics and velvet: this year, we want to shine to celebrate the holidays together!

What colors will be in fashion this winter?

Black and shiny gray are always very glamorous. This year, two other colors are joining them for the holidays: purple and red, two shades that are very present in the shops this year.

Red is a color that immediately captures attention, and the legendary Santa Claus has understood this very well, as he wears it beautifully! It is impossible to escape the power of this captivating color, symbolizing power and passion. Wearing this color is a real eye-catcher, and apparently even seeing it triggers an adrenaline rush.4pt 247.8pt 283.2pt 318.6pt 354.0pt 389.4pt 424.8pt 460.2pt;”>

Purple, on the other hand, is the color of loyalty, gentleness, peace and dreams. This shade will be increasingly present in the coming years, because purple is also the color of digital technology. We bet it will be one of the Pantone colors to come!

Without further ado, here are Julie’s favorites to help you be as festive and comfortable as possible!

Trend #1: chic and comfy outfits for Christmas

When it comes to holiday fashion, anything goes! Make way for sequins, shiny fabrics, velvet, in short: be daring. Whether you like to shine a little, a lot or passionately, this winter the watchword is to have fun with fashion, while remaining comfortable in your outfit.

Pro tip

Julie shares a little advice on how to wear sequins to suit your figure: “For those with an A-line figure, choose shiny garments for the upper body.8pt 460.2pt;”>Julie shares a little advice on how to wear sequins according to your figure: “For those with an A-line figure, choose shiny clothes for the upper body. For those with a V-line figure, the opposite will be true, so shiny fabrics for the lower body. This technique will help balance your figure.”

Trend #2: the cable knit sweater

Winter is approaching and so are the very cold temperatures. At this time of year, it’s hard not to notice one of the most fashionable pieces in recent years: the cable knit. Historically, it was created for Irish fishermen to protect them from the cold. That is why it is also called the Irish sweater or fisherman’s sweater.6pt 354.0pt 389.4pt 424.8pt 460.2pt;”>

Very trendy, we see it a lot this year in a loose and voluminous version. However, you have to be careful when shopping, because it does not flatter all figures. Julie explains how to know which type of sweater suits us:

“For I- and A-shaped figures or if you have a more elongated figure, you can choose loose-fitting or chunky knit jumpers. For V, X, H or O body shapes, opt for sweaters with smaller stitches, with a less loose and less long cut. This will flatter your figure rather than weighing it down like a loose sweater would.

Pro tip for looking after your sweater

  • First of all, you have to read the labels carefully. Wool is the fiber that shrinks the most, so you should avoid exposing your sweater to heat.
  • Dry clean or wash your sweater in cold water, inside out, and wash it separately. If you have one, use a laundry bag (they come in different sizes). It is also very important to choose a mild soap that is designed for delicate fabrics.
  • And last thing: don’t hang them on hangers, as they will crease badly!

Favorite #5

This batwing sleeve sweater is made up of smaller stitches. However, it is not necessarily flattering on every figure. “V, I or X-shaped figures will be very well suited to this top,” says Julie.6pt 354.0pt 389.4pt 424.8pt 460.2pt;”>

Favorite #6

This turtleneck sweater is a little longer, so it can easily be worn with leggings or skinny jeans. “For those with an I-silhouette, it will be perfect, as it will add a little volume. However, it is not recommended for an A- or H-silhouette,” says our stylist.

The après-ski look is very fashionable this season and can easily be recreated with this sweater. “As it has a smaller knit and a zipper, it will flatter all figures,” Julie tells us.8pt 106.2pt 141.6pt 177.0pt 212.4pt 247.8pt 283.2pt 318.6pt 354.0pt 389.4pt 424.8pt 460.2pt;”>

Trend #3: green and its many virtues

The color of the moment is without a doubt green! While shopping at Carrefour, Julie noticed a wide variety of clothes in this color in the shops. Will you be following the trend this season?

There are several meanings associated with the color green, but one thing is certain: it represents relaxation and gives energy. Green has the effect of recharging our batteries since this shade symbolizes love of nature. It is also a symbol of love for the family. Green is also a generous color and is associated with prosperity and abundance. Is it a coincidence that our $20 bills are that color?

While passing through Carrefour, Julie found several great finds in different shades of green. Whatever your taste and complexion, you’re sure to find a green garment that you like and that suits you perfectly. Note that emerald green suits all complexions and is particularly trendy this season!
